  • Communication and Collaboration with Stakeholders

In our long-term vision “Challenge 1000”, we specify “YONPO-YOSHI” as the company’s activity policy. “YONPO-YOSHI” means to contribute to customers, employees, shareholders, and society. We will deliver “one-step-ahead values” to our customers, “challenge and growth” to our employees, more “profit return” to our shareholders, and “a better tomorrow” to society, so that we can contribute to all of our stakeholders.

Our group started business with the production of carbon disulfide, the raw material of rayon, and has been supported by the community residents and many other people. Even now, we continue to have opportunities to communicate with stakeholders in various situations to confirm their expectations and demands for our group companies. We believe that it is important to take expectations and demands obtained through such communication in our supply chain activities for the establishment of trust relationships with stakeholders and sustainable development.

    • ①Visiting lecture

A visiting lecture is a periodic event in which our staff visits a high school in Kagawa Prefecture and conducts a lecture according to the school's requests. Indeed, the lecture covers a variety of topics. To date, we have conducted a chemical experiment with the students, helped them develop career plans, and presided over a presentation to propose specific strategies for town planning. We would like to contribute to the community through the visiting lectures and provide an opportunity to develop human resources for the next generation.

    • ②Workshop

To help children cultivate an interest in manufacturing, we held a workshop using our wall materials in 2021 and 2022 as part of the plastic art studio program hosted by the Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art. With the cooperation of plasterers from the Kagawa Prefecture Plasterers’ Association, we provided children with an opportunity to enjoy learning about plastered walls. After struggling to make plaster walls using trowels, the children enthusiastically reported, “I want to be a plasterer when I grow up. It was fun, and I enjoyed my first experience.” This event aimed to popularize the traditional Japanese culture of plastered walls among the locals.

    • ③Kagawa Marugame International Half Marathon special sponsorship

The Kagawa Marugame International Half Marathon originated in 1974 when the Shikoku Kasei Group was founded. Every February, participants show heated races in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture, where we are headquartered.
We have engaged in various initiatives as a special sponsor since the 75th event. On the event day, we volunteered to manage water stations and set up two aid stations to provide fruits and sweets produced in Kagawa Prefecture.
Furthermore, we set up a charity website, “# let’s support stone wall restoration of Marugame Castle together with Shikoku Kasei,” for the duration of the event to raise funds online and donated the funds collected to Marugame City for the restoration of Marugame Castle.
