Research and Development (R&D) of Chemicals

SHIKOKU KASEI GROUP achieves a large share of the global market in pursuit of a “global niche.”

Our chemicals operations consist of various fields and products. Our R&D departments assume an important role in the development and refinement of these various products and in the cultivation of new needs. Since the founding of the company, the R&D department has been committed to the creation of new value—including the invention of a breakthrough carbon disulfide manufacturing process and the first successful mass production of chlorinated isocyanurates in Japan—and with these efforts we have achieved a large share of the global market. Each of our engineers is pursuing a “global niche” and concentrating energies on research and development every day to seek and pursue needs and develop themes.

With the long-accumulated core technology and the production technology underlying it as our core competencies, we are endeavoring to make inroads into various industries, including electronics, automotive industry, and composite materials. We are also aiming to further develop these key businesses: Inorganic chemicals, Organic chemicals, and Fine chemicals.

The R&D departments are engaged in laboratory synthesis while seeking to meet the needs of customers and the market, and while contemplating and verifying the applications of technology and of substances synthesized thus far. In collaboration with the production and technology department, the R&D departments are working toward mass production through an efficient manufacturing process in tandem with the production of sample workpieces. The R&D departments offer continuous support, such as the provision of information and technical guidance, even after the commercialization of products.
